Meet Our Team
Vincent and Rebecca Vierck: Vince opened Re-Born Automotive in a small two bay gas station in Vancouver in 1983 when he was 19. In 1988 he opened and continues the operation of Re-Born in SE Portland. Then and to this day passionate about cars and anything mechanical. He enjoys working on his multitude of vintage British and German Sports cars, camper bus and motorcycles. Another passion is crafting Arts and Crafts era furniture in his woodshop and brewing beer. Becky is the always optimistic smiley face of Re-Born whose interests include gardening, sewing beautiful clothes for their six grandchildren, planning gatherings and being the best Nana, mother and wife possible. Together they enjoy working their property, involvement in their church, traveling the world and camping in the beautiful NW. After 36 years in the business, they both are stepping back some, enjoying the fruits of their labors as they turn the helm over to the trusty grips of Hans. How fortunate and blessed they are.
Hans Vierck: Hans is the manager of Re-Born and as you can guess, has grown up in the business and has a true zeal for cars and the industry. Hans was just five when he disassembled and assembled a VW carburetor at the shop. He has a true gift of the mechanical mind with impeccable diagnostic strategies and he brings that same gift into the office taking care of our customers and work family. Hans is married to Amy and they have three beautiful children, Alexa, Hannah and Carter and they live and enjoy the country life on five acres in Hockinson, WA. They enjoy spending valuable time with their kids, dogs and all family and get out camping and off-roading in their Land Rover whenever possible. Hans is working hard learning and absorbing the complexities of running an auto repair service facility in the 2020’s and like everything he does, he does it with flair and compassion! Well done Hans.
Dave Klug: Dave has been with Re-Born for over 15 years and brings extensive knowledge, experience, work ethic and old-world craftsmanship to our team. Dave has mentored some of our younger techs in their earlier years including Hans, Saimir and Chris. He is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced Vintage British technicians in Portland, and dare we say anywhere. He is a true craftsman. Dave is semi-retired working three days a week on project cars and restorations including complete nut and bolt restorations of both a rare 1954 Swallow Doretti, one of 275 built and approximately 140 remaining in the world, and a gorgeous 1956 Ford Thunderbird. When he’s not crafting on vintage cars, he and his wife Ella enjoy gardening and visiting historical lodges.
Jim Ware: Jim brings nearly 20 years of automotive Service Advising to our team and possesses a natural ability to be precise, complete and accurate in all that he does. He’s quick, efficient and truly enjoys his job and advising our customers on their vehicles service and repair needs. Jim, like everyone at Re-Born is a real team player with his best interest for our customers and work family. When he’s not working, he maintains his physical self at the gym every morning and takes walks with his dog Scout. He enjoys trips to central Oregon finding the perfect stream and the perfect hole so he can get his fly fishing on. You can imagine the fishing stories we hear on Monday mornings…
Angus Proud: Angus, yet another of our amazing talents shares his precision, diagnostic abilities and quality work with both our customers and our work family. In addition to his many years servicing and repairing vehicles, he has a substantial background in machining which is very useful when it comes to decisions on mechanical part and structure failures. Angus is precise and efficient in all that he does and he does it with pride. He lives in Estacada, OR on property with his wife Wendy and their Blue Heeler Smokey. They both enjoy hikes and spending time in the wilderness. Angus is building two BMW E30 "M" cars in his off time. He also rides an early BMW R100GS motorbike. He’s a true asset to our work family.

He’s quick, clean and efficient always paying close attention to quality and detail. Always a smile on his face a quick with a witty remark. Dave gets along well with everyone and is a real team guy.
